Via Lattea, or Milky Way, is a massive ski area straddling Italy and France in the Italian Alps, known for its 400 km of interconnected slopes. Winters here are cold and snowy, with temperatures often below freezing (around 20°F / -7°C), so you can ski from December to April at places like Sestriere.
